San Sebastián Festival:
January 15th to 18th

Dear Guests,

We are excited to share important details about one of Puerto Rico’s most famous cultural celebrations — the San Sebastián Street Festival (Fiestas de la Calle San Sebastián). This lively event transforms Old San Juan into a vibrant celebration of music, dance, art, folklore and local tradition — and it’s completely free to attend!

Dates & Times:

January 15–18, 2026 — Thursday through Sunday

The festivities begin in the afternoon and continue into the evening and night each day, with most live music and concerts starting around early evening (around 5–6 PM) and continuing past midnight.

The event features:

  • Street performances and artisan markets during the day

  • Large stages with live music, dance and cultural shows at night

  • The traditional parade with vejigantes (masks & folkloric characters) on Sunday, January 18th.

📍 Location: Old San Juan – Calle San Sebastián and surrounding plazas.

The festival spreads throughout the historic walled city — especially along Calle San Sebastián, Plaza del Quinto Centenario, Plaza de la Barandilla, and Plaza Colón.

How to Get There

Traffic and parking are extremely limited during the festival.

We strongly recommend using public transportation or alternatives instead of driving:

Public Transport Options:

Tren Urbano

  • Operates regular service and late-night schedules during the festival.

  • Best station to use: Sagrado Corazón — then transfer to buses or rideshares toward Old San Juan.

Special Festival Buses

  • Buses run from major hubs like Sagrado Corazón Station and Hiram Bithorn Stadium directly to Old San Juan (Covadonga / Constitución area).

  • Round-trip cost is approx. $5.00 per person.

Ferry from Cataño

  • A fun and easy option: ferry service to Old San Juan operates daily during the festival.

  • Round-trip cost approx. $4–$5.

Rideshare / Taxi / Walking

  • Uber and taxis can drop you near the festival perimeter (often around Hacienda or nearby streets), but surge pricing and wait times may apply.

  • If you are staying nearby, walking can be a pleasant option — but come early and wear comfortable shoes.
